Physics-structured models

Peter's thread: Hamiltonian networks, the GENERIC formalism, and Metriplector. I sympathize with the thesis but won't bind my learning or projects to it. Where is the learning? The physics machinery is hard-coded and only the small networks that configure the simulation are trained. It is purpose-built per task, a design pattern more than a model.
