Contact
Contact is the hard problem. Collisions are sharp, friction sticks then slips, an object is in the gripper or it isn't. Smooth-dynamics priors fit free-space motion (the swing, the reach, the gesture) and fight exactly the moments that make manipulation useful. Dexterity is where robotics actually breaks. Open question: does physics-structured latent dynamics survive contact?
